Inserting a New Failover Rule into a List of Failover Rules

The network interface failover insert command creates a new failover rule and inserts it at a specified priority into the list of failover rules. As needed, the command automatically rearranges the other rules in the list. For example, if you have a list of five failover rules and want to add a new failover rule with priority 3, you can use the network interface failover insert command to create the new rule directly at priority 3, without having to rearrange the other rules in the list. In this case, the command rearranges the list so that the rule that previously had priority 3 now has priority 4, the rule that previously had priority 4 now has priority 5, and the rule that previously had priority 5 now has priority 6.

The following example creates a new failover rule for the virtual interface named dataif2 on the node named node1a. The failover rule has the target node node1a and the target port aggregate dataportaggr1, and is inserted into the list of failover rules at priority 2. The command automatically rearranges other failover rules in the list around the new rule at priority 2.

node::> network interface failover insert -server node1a -vif dataif2
-priority 2 -node node0a -port dataportaggr1
